Question #2:
Have you ever bought or sold anything on Ebay?
I buy exotic stone beads to make jewelry, native american drums and blankets. We sold my husbands Harley on ebay and some diving equipment.Question #3:
What are good equipment needs to get to a geocache that i want to make?
Now when i say this i don't like rock climbing gear and scube diving gear but i mean more of stratagy thinking skills that you need to know to get to.The reason why i am asking is because one of the caches which i found on the website has used archemedes principle in order to get to it.
The way that it works is that you need 5litre bottle of water and fill it up a tube to get the cache to float to the top.
I want to use something like that for my next geocache which i am gonna make.
Any ideas for this clever thought cache.
Question #4:
Cost of scuba diving?
Ok, so I went on a basic scuba diving course a year ago in Africa and absolutely loved it, so much that continued to advanced this year, during the courses I used rented equipment and wetsuits.Outside of the courses I have not dived on my own, however I am thinking of taking up diving as a hobby and possibly professionally in the future at home here in the UK and for this I expect I will be needing my own equipment, obviously flippers, mask and wetsuit would be needed but my dilemma is whether it is worthwhile buying my own BCD, weights, regulator, dive computer and such or would it be more cost effective to rent those?
My main concern is the cost of this, I expect if I bought my own it would be better quality and suited to me, but I imagine the cost would be very high for good quality reliable equipment, rather than something rented. I was wondering how much I would be looking at approximately for this, I am still new to diving so any advice would be appreciated, thanks :)
Question #5:
Dove hunting is coming in less that a month, need help finding the perfect chair?
I usually take a folding chair, ice chest, bag for equipment, case of shells and two shotguns. It wasn't a problem until the crossing over a canal gave way so we cant drive across, now we have to carry everything and we only have one 4 wheeler so some of us backpack and carry our stuff to the camp site. Is there a chair, doesn't matter what size smaller the better, that is also a cooler and maybe folds down into a bag or backpack? That would definitely help making one less trip. Oh and buying a four wheeler will have to wait a few years, lol, the wife doesn't want another bill right now.Yup good ol Rio Grande Valley hunting. We are crazy to be out in 100 degree weather with humidity as high all day.
Question #6:
Should I buy my own scuba gear?
I am looking into buying an Oceanic scuba gear package for $1750. I have been a certified diver for two years now but haven't done as many dives as I would have liked to. This is mainly because of the extra expense of hiring scuba gear, it can change a $50 dive into a $100 dive! I am not sure whether to buy my own Equipment, or save my money (as i am still in school and have uni/car to pay for soon). I would really want my own gear and i have the money, but it is a lot of money. Should I get the gear? Or is there a cheaper quality package i can get locally in australia? Thanks.Question #7:
Health/Sport related question...? (Please Help!)?
This is mainly a health related question pertaining to me but if someone who knows a little something about sports could answer, it would help me a lot.I am 13 years old (I am a girl) and really overweight. I am 196 pounds and I am 5 feet 8 inches. I also have a lot of health issues that are being caused by my weight problem. I have High Blood Pressure, a bad neck problem, and I get heat exhaustion terribly easy. So it is really important that I start loosing weight. But I am kinda in a sticky situation...I have no access for getting exercise. But at first I tried walking around in my neighborhood but living in Florida and going out to walk/run was not a good idea. (I had 3 heat strokes in this sun!) And my mom was not happy about me going around in the neighborhood alone. So next, I tired to work out in my home. We are slap broke so I have no equipment. But I tired a bunch of cardiovascular and muscle work outs. Well, it didn't last long...I could only do it for about 15 minutes before passing out or getting so bored I wished I would pass out (that was a joke, I am being facetious). So now I am here. I know it is imperative that I loose weight or else my health could get even worse. And since I am starting High School in 2 weeks, I thought it would be a good idea if I joined a sports club in my school. I have never really done sports so I don't know which sport I should try. I don't have many choices because my health really is bad. (Just writing it all down in this question, makes me realize it even more.) So I need a sport that won't affect my previous health conditions. But I really need to join one or else my health is just going to get worse. Any ideas?
Here is the sports available to me: Basketball, Cross Country, Tennis, Golf, Softball, Track, Cheerleading, Soccer, Swimming&Diving, Volleyball, and Dance team. I am not good at running, or softball, so those are kinda out of the question.
PLEASE HELP!!!
I really want to loose weight. I NEED to. So I immediately started eating healthier and cut my salt intake. I only get salt that comes naturally in foods and I rarely ever eat bad food. But I haven't lost a pound. I really need an exercise that will motivate me and push me to get this weight off. Being my size brings me to tears. I have not always been this way. I starting gaining weight rapidly after some traumatic events in my life and I could not get it off.
Question #8:
how to approach a 6 year older man?
I have a crush on a guy i met when we went diving with some group. I'm a girl and 21, he's 27 and we're both single. We exchanged a few glares, flirted a bit, helped each other with diving equipment and putting on neoprene suits, he lighted my cigarettes. He's just such a babe and I can't get him out of my head. He also added me on facebook, but that probably doesn't mean anything... Any tips on what should I do to approach him, how to seduce him or anything? I'm rather inexperienced when it comes to love.Question #9:
Where can I sell my diving equipment?
I (unfortunately) have been told I am not allowed to dive anymore so have decided to sell my BCD (size XL -integrated system) and my brand new octopus, regulator etc (I have never had chance to use it-it still has the labels on). I have contacted my local dive clubs about this but noone has replied to me as to where I can sell my equipment.Does anyone know where I can sell my diving equipment? Thank you
Question #10:
Where to buy my scuba equipment?
I recently got into scuba....I absolutely love it.Got my certification yesterday and am looking into buyin my own gear.
Ive been lectured TONS by the instructors at my dive shop about the dangers from buying gear online.
But the truth of the matter is, I cant afford the prices in the shop!
Is it really as bad as they say it is to buy from a site, say Click Here ?
Thanks tons!
ALSO!!
any recommendations on gear for a beginner is much welcomed!
thanks you!
Question #11:
I'm allergic to tree nuts, what can I eat?
The allergist said I wasn't allergic to chocolate which i'm happy about, but even if a chocolate bar doesn't have nuts in them some products are produced on the same equipment. I haven't had a candy bar in 2 years, I want to dive back in, but i'm a little worried.Question #12:
How far down into the Ocean can a person go with the proper suit and equipment?
What is the maximum depth that divers can go into the water. With the proper suit. Could Divers dive down to the Oil Leak Cap?Question #13:
Kenya Holiday - costs of excursions?
Hi. I'm currently planning a holiday to kenya (mombasa) and was wondering how much it will cost to do various activities while I am there. I would like to be active as opposed to just sitting round by the pool/beach and would like to go for two weeks:1. Safaris - I have a rough idea of how much safaris will cost (about £200 for 2-3days) and will book when i get there.
2. I would like to get involved in watersports - how much would it be for hire of various equipment? In particular windsurfing - I've never tried this but would like to give it a go and may need tuition first.
3. scuba diving - how much would it be for a dive? and how much to take a padi course?
4. nightclubs - how much for entry into the main clubs - I've heard good things about cassablanca. and how much for drinks?
5. other trips out to nearby villages and other sightseeing days of interest.
Thanks for your replies in advance!
Dean.
Question #14:
How can anyone defend the competency of the Obama administration in the light of this information?
The ignorance and naivete on display in this administration is costing us daily. This secondary calamity was 100% avoidable, in all the Obama administration has turned down offers for help from at least 12 other governments, why?Did he want this to get out of hand so that new legislation could be enacted? Yes conspiracy theory, but we have see nit before with this administration..."never let a good crisis go to waste."
excerpt...
In sharp contrast to Dutch preparedness before the fact and the Dutch instinct to dive into action once an emergency becomes apparent, witness the American reaction to the Dutch offer of help. The U.S. government responded with "Thanks but no thanks," remarked Visser, despite BP's desire to bring in the Dutch equipment and despite the no-lose nature of the Dutch offer --the Dutch government offered the use of its equipment at no charge. Even after the U.S. refused, the Dutch kept their vessels on standby, hoping the Americans would come round. By May 5, the U.S. had not come round. To the contrary, the U.S. had also turned down offers of help from 12 other governments, most of them with superior expertise and equipment --unlike the U.S., Europe has robust fleets of Oil Spill Response Vessels that sail circles around their make-shift U.S. counterparts.
Why does neither the U.S. government nor U.S. energy companies have on hand the cleanup technology available in Europe? Ironically, the superior European technology runs afoul of U.S. environmental rules. The voracious Dutch vessels, for example, continuously suck up vast quantities of oily water, extract most of the oil and then spit overboard vast quantities of nearly oil-free water. Nearly oil-free isn't good enough for the U.S. regulators, who have a standard of 15 parts per million -- if water isn't at least 99.9985% pure, it may not be returned to the Gulf of Mexico.
When ships in U.S. waters take in oil-contaminated water, they are forced to store it. As U.S. Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen, the official in charge of the clean-up operation, explained in a press briefing on June 11, "We have skimmed, to date, about 18 million gallons of oily water--the oil has to be decanted from that [and] our yield is usually somewhere around 10% or 15% on that." In other words, U.S. ships have mostly been removing water from the Gulf, requiring them to make up to 10 times as many trips to storage facilities where they off-load their oil-water mixture, an approach Koops calls "crazy."
The Americans, overwhelmed by the catastrophic consequences of the BP spill, finally relented and took the Dutch up on their offer -- but only partly. Because the U.S. didn't want Dutch ships working the Gulf, the U.S. airlifted the Dutch equipment to the Gulf and then retrofitted it to U.S. vessels. And rather than have experienced Dutch crews immediately operate the oil-skimming equipment, to appease labour unions the U.S. postponed the clean-up operation to allow U.S. crews to be trained.

Question #15:

Hi guys. I am looking for a gear bag for my scuba diving equipment. I am told duffles are great for storing gear. What’s a good size and any brands you can recommend? Thanks.
Question #16:
What improvements should I make to my band's audio equipment (very novice)?
(I do not know what I am doing... my goal in this post is to understand how I should upgrade my band's audio equipment most efficiently)Me and a friend have been playing amateur guitar very casually for a few years now. Ive never really had any lessons or training and we never really played together before recently. But all of a sudden my friend mentioned trying to form a band and next thing I knew I had two other friends, a novice bass player and keyboardist who were also interested. So things are falling together pretty nicely. This past weekend me, the other guitarist, and the bass player met up and jammed for the first time. It was loads of fun and we plan to start meeting up consistently with the keyboardist. But it was obvious that we needed a better way of dealing with our audio/amps and such.
When my friend first mentioned trying to start a band I become kind of obsessed and got a lot more serious with things. I picked up some gear, started practicing vocals, working on guitar daily, and even took up the keyboard. That lead me to my current audio set up...
I have a tiny Behringer 1mic/5 input mixer that goes to this Click Here which then goes to my comp. On my comp ive got Fruity Loops and Ableton Live with tons of different plugins. I also have a 61 key m audio keyboard which plugs into the comp through usb. Ive got a mic and a guitar going into the mixer. My guitar is a white Ibanez... I am not sure the exact model but after browsing their site it is most similar to the arx320. I also cant remember how much I spent on it but im thinking between 200-400. All of the audio is being outputted by these speakers from the comp Click Here
There are a couple of problems with this setup. As far as I can tell when accessing the mixer/audio interface in Fruity Loops or Ableton I can only use it as one input. Though I managed to figure out a way of diving it into 2 by shifting 2 sounds in the mixer completely to L and another to R. Which lets me split the guitar and vocals. But this makes anything other than just one guitar drown together and the bass needs different effects to the guitar. So the first thing im curious about is is there some sort of mixer that allows me to access the different inputs and configure them individually through a DAW like ableton or fruity loops?
(So say I have a mic in the mixer, 2 guitars, and a bass I would want to be able to select each individual input and apply separate effects/plugins to each) if this cant be done with some type of mixer how is this normally accomplished?
Also depending on the effects i am using for guitar / keyboard there can be latency issues. And in general on guitar there is always very slight lag... its still playable but not exactly optimal.
The next problem is mic / guitar feedback. Mic being a much more prominent problem. I don't know anything about how im supposed to stop this from happening. I can get decent volume but I cant even put those speakers to max without causing explosions. This is the mic I am using Click Here . I turn down the volume so I have to get really close to the mic. The mic is positioned about 12 feet from the speakers and facing away from them.
So now that you know my basic setup and that I know nothing I would like any advice you can give. I want to make improvements but im just not sure how. Currently the DAW stuff is really nice for doing covers because we can easily generate any sound we want but if I cant get all the inputs separated its kind of a problem. Am I using the right audio software? is there something else you might suggest using for my situation?
Should I invest in a guitar amp / vocal amp and try to get away from the DAW stuff? I was checking out the Spider IV 75 watt. Is an amp like this stupid or a bad idea for w/e reason? What kind of amp would I use for vocals?
If I got a mixing board that could work with the DAWs in the way I describe we could continue to practice but make use of it later once we slowly acquire more physical audio equipment. I have maybe 400 to spend on this stuff but would like to know what i should continue to work towards in the future.
Sorry for the long post any help is very appreciated.
Question #17:
BP Oil Spill in the gulf--your view on solution(s)?
I'd like to hear your ideas on solutions to cap this well, and also important, going forward for future handling of offshore drilling oil spills/disasters.Like, for me, not sure why deep-diving equipment/robots/subs aren't already available and in use by offshore drilling companies, many of whom have assets in the billions for such equipment.
Question #18:
Do you think TNA has reached the peak of it's success already + YWWA Breakdown Results 3?
Edgehead reacts to the incident on GCW and her upcoming match at Call to Greatness while at homeWhile at home recuperating from the hellacios Spear she hit sending herself and Extreme off the stage and to the equipment below, Edgehead had a chance to discuss about how she was feeling before her match with Extreme come Call to Greatness. Edgehead seemed to be feeling ok, and said come Call to Greatness 2 things will happen. YWWA will be respected once again as Edgehead is the next Women’s Champion, and Extreme will regret ever signing with YWWA.
Ms. Extreme reacts to the incident on GCW and her upcoming match at Call to Greatness while at home
Feeling more pain than Edgehead, Extreme still had to overcome it and be ready for Call to Greatness. Extreme promised she would be, and the self proclaimed YWWA Knockout’s Champion said come Call to Greatness she would add the official YWWA title around her waist; The Women’s title, making her an Undisputed champion. Fans liked that idea and showed they were all behind Extreme for Call to Greatness.
Match 3: Dark Demon vs Risky Business
Demon had a lot to prove going into his Openweight Title match. He needed to pick up a win unlike his Call to Greatness opponent Diablo did earlier. Risky on the other hand needed to prove he could make it big on his own in YWWA. So this match was a must win match for each competitors. The bell rang and the 2 tied up. Demon had a strength advantage and it allowed him to get a knee to the gut in on Risky allowing him the chance to take him down with clubbing blows to his back. Risky reached his knees when Demon rammed his knee to the head of Risky to knock him down. With Risky on his back, Demon jumped high in the air and came down driving his knee to the skull of Risky. He did that 2 other times before bringing Risky up to his feet. Holding him up, Demon delivered vicious open palmed slaps to the chest of Risky. After 3, his chest had Demon’s hand print showing. Demon smirked, but Risky was not out. Risky caught Demon by surprise with a dropkick. Demon reached his feet and Risky hit another. Again Demon got up, and again another dropkick. Demon rushed up a 4th time and this time Risky ran for a clothesline, but Demon took him down with an armdrag instead. Keeping Risky’s arm in his clutches, Demon then applied an armbar; preparing him up for his submission match. Risky looked to be in pain and Demon just applied more pressure. Demon then began making his way up with the hold still applied, and he twisted the arm and rolled Risky into a summersault back to the mat where Demon then applied a chin lock. Demon was really experimenting with a new submission style. As he kept the chin lock in for a few seconds, he began to make his way up again while keeping the hold still applied. While each man was on their feet, Demon switched up his chin lock into a full nelson. Risky began to fade away as Demon was in full control. Risky tried his very best to fight it, but before he could escape, Demon slammed him down with a full nelson slam. Demon smiled and was ready to end the match with an Evil Spirit. He brought Risky up, but again Risky surprised him by slapping him across the face. The slap turned Demon around and Risky ran to hit a running bulldog. Risky needed to capitalize big to get back in the match, so he went to do just that by climbing the top rope. As soon as Demon was standing, Risky dove off for a crossbody. But Demon impressively caught him and slammed him down with a fall away slam. Now Demon was back to his old self and was prepared to utilize his strength. He pulled up Risky and threw him shoulder 1st into the steel post, after pulling him off the post Demon then hit Risky with a running powerslam. Demon brought Risky’s near lifeless body up yet again and hit him with a pumphandle slam. It looked as if Risky had no hope whatsoever. Demon looked to bring Risky up 1 final time and he set him up for an Evil Spirit. He had Risky set up, but Risky managed to hit a forearm across the face of Demon to stun him for a moment. Risky then rushed to the top rope and dove off to take Demon off his feet with a very impressive moonsault. A few fans applauded the move, and continued to root Risky on over Demon. Both men began to struggle up, but Risky made it up 1st with the help of the corner. Unfortunately the corner also cost him because Demon ran and splashed into Risky against the corner and then hit a belly to belly slam. Both men were trading moves left and right, each looking to hit a big move to gain a victory. They both struggled up again and this Demon got up 1st and he set up to hopefully finally hit his Evil Spirit. But again Risky avoided it and instead he connected with an inziguri. Both men for a 3rd time struggled to their feet, mirror images of 1 another. Both were dazed by the time they were up, but this time it was Demon’s turn to capitalize. He did so by kneeing Risky in the gut, and finally having the chan
chance to hit his Evil Spirit. But before he connected it, Demon thought for a moment and decided not to hit the move. Instead he pushed Risky to the mat and locked him in a cobra clutch. The cobra clutch made Risky tap out and gave Demon a victory. Demon sent his message loud and clear to Diablo and proved he could win a match by submission, but only time would tell if he could win by it at Call to Greatness.
Winner: Dark Demon
Question #19:
What is the best equipment for scuba diving, i.e. dive watch, regulator, mask, etc.?
Question #20:
How to kill someone Scuba Diving (for a TV show!)?
Hello!I'm writing a Sunday night detective show for the BBC (not dissimilar to Midsomer Murders).
In one episode, everyone is on a scuba diving holiday in the Caribbean or somesuch.... and I'd like the murderer to be able to quickly 'doctor' the air cylinders of his 'friend' so that when they go down into the water, his friend's equipment catastrophically fails and his 'friend' is killed.
Sorry if this appears macabre, but I have to think of this sort of stuff all the time, so imagine what it's like for me. :)
The criteria would be:
1) It doesn't have to be 100% realistic, it just needs to feel/look realistic to the viewers at home.
2) The doctoring/murder method should ideally be easy to explain so that I don't have to get bogged down too much with exposition.
I hope this sort of makes sense - and I'd gratefully receive any sort of responses as simple internet searches aren't really helping me here.
Thanks in advance.
Robert.
